Common types of windows

Casement windows

Clear Cut installs casement windows singularly, assembled in combinations, or with picture windows.

Casement windows feature multiple locking points (in sizes taller than 22 inches) to provide stability and superior resistance to forced entry. Our North Star collection has a 3 1/4-inch welded frame and welded sash. Adjust the sash to the perfect angle to catch passing breezes… the casement offers more ventilation area than any other style.

These windows are available in a variety of interior finishes including light and dark oak as well as contemporary vinyl finishes.

Awnings/hoppers

The awning is hinged at the top and opens outward, with a screen on the inside. The hopper is hinged at the bottom and opens inward, with a screen on the outside. Awnings/hoppers are an excellent choice where ventilation is an important factor, since virtually the entire window can be opened.
As with the casement style, North Star awnings and hoppers perform extremely well because the sash closes against the frame and can be locked.

Picture windows

A Clear Cut installed picture window delivers extraordinary energy savings and clear sight lines.

Your Clear Cut picture window is available with a sash so it can be assembled with operating casement or awning windows for a uniform profile, or without a sash for an even larger viewing area. The picture window offers the greatest selection in sizing – up to a maximum of 35 square feet.
Being fixed, the picture window is already among the most economical and energy-efficient styles available.
